Who Can Become a Certifier?

The CISSP certification is a widely recognized cybersecurity credential that proves to employers and others that an individual has the skill set and knowledge required for a position in the cybersecurity field.

To receive the CISSP certification, an individual must first achieve the Certified Security Professional (CSP) credential. The CSP credential is offered by the Global Information Assurance Certification Body (GIAC).

To be eligible to pursue the CISSP certification, an individual must have at least two years of experience working in a cybersecurity role, including at least one year of experience in a leadership role. Additionally, the individual must pass two exams. The first exam is focused on information security basics and covers topics such as penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
